How to Opt Out of Mistral Vibe Model Training (Mistral AI)
AI Privacy Opt-Out Guides — Opt out of AI services' use of your personal information for future training data.
Mistral is a French AI company whose consumer assistant was renamed from Le Chat to Vibe in May 2026. If you use Vibe on a Free, Pro, or Student plan, your prompts and responses are used to train Mistral's models by default. This 2026 guide walks through the opt-out on the web admin panel and on mobile.
Why this matters. Consumer AI products use chats, posts, and account data to train models by default. Once your information is included in a training run, it cannot be removed retroactively. The earlier you opt out, the more of your data stays out. Priwall by mePrism tracks every major AI opt-out so you can act before, not after.
Why opt out of Mistral Vibe?
Free, Pro, and Student conversations on Vibe are used to improve Mistral's models unless you turn data sharing off. That includes the text of your prompts, files you attach, and the responses Vibe generates. Opting out keeps future sessions out of Mistral's training pipeline and gives you the same control that Team and Enterprise customers get by default.

New conversations stop feeding Mistral's training pipeline as soon as the toggle is off. Conversations already used in a completed training run remain in that model. One caveat worth knowing: Labs and Preview Models — experimental features Mistral surfaces before general release — may continue to use inputs for training regardless of your opt-out, so avoid pasting sensitive data into anything labeled Labs or Preview.
Frequently asked questions
Is Vibe the same product as Le Chat?
Yes. Mistral renamed Le Chat to Vibe in May 2026. Existing accounts, chats, and settings carried over, but the interface labels are new.
Do Team and Enterprise customers need to opt out?
No. Team, Enterprise, and paid API traffic is excluded from training by default. This guide is for Free, Pro, and Student users.
What about the API?
Paid API calls are excluded from training by default. Free evaluation credits and Labs features are the exception — treat those the same as free consumer traffic.
Does opting out change model quality for me?
No. Your responses are generated by the same models. The setting only controls whether your inputs feed the next training run.
Where are my conversations stored?
Mistral is a French company subject to EU data protection law. Vibe traffic is stored on EU infrastructure by default. Their privacy and data controls documentation covers current storage regions.
"We picked Mistral because it's EU-hosted, and we opted out on day one. Priwall confirmed the toggle was still off after their May 2026 rebrand — I would have missed that on my own." — Priwall customer, EU professional services
