How to opt out of ChatGPT model training
- Open ChatGPT and sign in. Go to chat.openai.com or open the ChatGPT app, signed in to your personal account.

- Go to Data Controls. In the Settings panel, navigate to the Data Controls section.

- Toggle it off. Switch the toggle to the off position. The change applies immediately to all new conversations.
- Verify the setting. Reopen Data Controls a moment later and confirm the toggle is still off. New chats started from this point are excluded from training.
